Gallery Statement

As a centre for contemporary art, the Comox Valley Art Gallery is dedicated to presenting and fostering contemporary art by professional artists from the region, the country and beyond. Through our exhibitions, publications, creative residencies, and education programs, we link the Comox Valley to the broader world of contemporary art practice. CVAG is committed to supporting emergent practice through programming and collaborations with emerging artists by offering a variety of youth training and emerging artist mentorship program that offer opportunities for hands-on experience. We actively engage the public, draw visitors, and enliven the community through public events, performances, community collaborations, all-ages make art projects, and a gift shop that sells the work of hundreds of local artists. CVAG is an independent public gallery run by a non-profit society.
